16 Years. 6,000+ Educators. One Mission.

Michael Abraham is an accomplished public school teacher, educational consultant, author — and above all, a dedicated father. With over 16 years of teaching experience at the elementary, middle, and high school levels, both in the United States and internationally, Michael brings not only academic expertise but the grounded perspective of a father raising three daughters in the modern world.

As a dad, Michael knows firsthand how challenging and deeply rewarding it is to raise Muslim children with strong values in today's Western society. Growing up in New York as the child of Syrian Christian parents, he converted to Islam 17 years ago — a life-changing decision that gave him a uniquely personal understanding of the journey so many Muslim families are navigating every day. That lived experience is at the heart of everything he teaches, both in the classroom and through his Muslim Parenting Course.

Michael has led professional development and school-turnaround initiatives in inner-city schools with Minneapolis Public Schools in Minnesota, where he helped reform a high school on the brink of collapse and improve its climate scores to become the best in the district — by implementing the same professional development plan for teachers that he now offers to Islamic private schools. It is our goal to develop in your staff the skills they need to become exceptional educators.

Michael is best known in the field of education for creating the professional development program Engaging Muslim Students in Public Schools, which he has also authored into a book by the same name. This program has helped over 6,000 educators across 17 states and 200 school districts and organizations in the United States, and has been presented at prestigious universities such as Hamline University, Washington University, and Ohio State University. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Political Science from the University of Minnesota and a Master's degree in Education from Hamline University, as well as teaching licenses in Teaching English as a Second Language and Communication Arts.

But perhaps what makes Michael most effective as a parenting coach is simple: he is living the same journey as the families he serves — a Muslim father, raising daughters with faith and intention, in a world full of competing influences. His Muslim Parenting Course is built on that reality.
